Who we are

As the church of Christ, we strive to practice New Testament Christianity and it is our sincere desire to be non-denominational. Our congregation in Lindsay supports itself and is independent of any other church body or group for its leadership. We believe that Jesus is our only head and we are His church. However, we work, fellowship, and give aid to other churches of Christ to help spread the gospel of Christ.

We believe that the church of Christ began in Jerusalem on the first day of Pentecost following the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Only teachings found in the Bible govern our beliefs and doctrines. We do not have creeds, for the Bible is the only source of truth and instruction God gave us. We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten Son of the living God.

What is our name?

The church of Christ in Lindsay Oklahoma is a group of Christians striving to practice Christianity as found in the New Testament and restore the church as it was found in the New Testament.

We wish to wear no other name than Christ's and be known simply as Christians, members of the body of Christ, the church of Christ. We refer to ourselves as the church of Christ to identify ourselves as to be the church belonging to Christ. "The churches of Christ salute you." (Rom. 16:16).

Our authority in worship

We believe that Christ is the head of the church (Eph. 1:22) and is our sole authority and it is through Jesus that each Christian can reach the Father through prayer. We teach and believe that Jesus is the only mediator between man and God (1 Tim. 2:5).

Our worship services consist of only those things we find taught and practiced in the New Testament. Our worship services are simple and consist of prayers, singing, teaching (preaching), taking the Lord's Supper, and giving as we have prospered. Our singing is acapella just as described in the New Testament (cf. Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16).

We extend an invitation to you to attend any of our services. You will always find a warm and friendly greeting when you arrive.
